Hagthorpe Hall

The owner of this listed house required an extension that would allow him to enjoy the views over the expansive gardens and countryside beyond, whilst providing a large living room. The existing house had been much altered over the years, but remained a cellular layout with small rooms.

The extension is designed in green oak and matching hand made brick to allow the new to mesh with the old, but with a contemporary edge.

The living room is linked to the house with a glazed entrance lobby, which contrasts the original brick walling with the pallet of new materials, subtle but effective lighting highlights the interior spaces at night.

The living space flows out into the garden when the doors are opened back and is flooded with natural light.

The extension is constructed to the highest standards by an excellent builder. The following quote says it all:
